Frequently Asked Questions

Key information regarding post-completion compliance and professional credentialing.

What is the expected turnaround time for Certificate of Completion issuance?
+
Following completion of all curriculum modules and submission of the formal Certificate Application, faculty review takes 3 to 5 business days. Your official high-resolution PDF certificate will be delivered directly to your registration email.
Why is the Syllabus of Record required during state Medicaid enrollment?
+
State regulatory bodies (such as the California Department of Health Care Services) mandate proof of minimum instructional hours across five statutory core competencies: Anatomy and Physiology, Childbirth Education, Non-Medical Comfort Measures, Lactation Support, and Community Resource Navigation. The Guided By Grace Syllabus of Record serves as the approved curriculum crosswalk for state reviewers.
How can practicum hours be fulfilled if immediate in-person shadowing is unavailable?
+
Practicum competencies can be satisfied through community or pro-bono client support (assisting friends or community members during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum window), attending Guided By Grace virtual clinical scenario workshops, and completing your Competency Self-Assessment and Practicum Field Log.
Are online CPR and HIPAA certifications recognized by state agencies and hospitals?
+
Yes. State Medicaid portals and hospital credentialing committees accept accredited online certifications from recognized organizations like Advanced Medical Certification (AMC) and ProTrainings, provided they conform to AHA guidelines and issue verifiable completion certificates and wallet cards.
